Great advice in the comment from Jay, as long as your name doesn't contradict your service, is silly enough to make people not to want to do business with you, or is already in use, you shouldn't have to spend too much time on it, a business strategy/plan is far more important.

Far too often people spend too much time picking a name for their business and not enough time figuring out their business/marketing strategy. Specifically, they don't clearly identify WHO they're targeting and what problem their solves for their target market.

Once you clearly understand your strategy, then your points are well-taken. Ideally, find a business name and domain name at the same time. If your business name doesn't state what you do ("Blue Marble"), then you risk the possibility of people not immediately "getting" that your industry. Instead, you'll spend time (and money) educating them about your clear benefit.

Google, McDonalds, etc. aren't names that mean anything by themselves. These organizations spent a lot defining themselves. Unless you have deep pockets, pick a name that's more obvious than not and focus on your real goal: making money in your business.
